BEN KUMANOVSKI

BIOGRAPHY

Ben Kumanovski is a producer, director and cinematographer with 20 years experience.

 

In this time Ben has produced, directed and/or shot commercial spots for brands like Red Balloon, Esky, and Listerine among others including over 50 retail ads for iconic Australian clothing brand Lowes Menswear. 

 

With awards from Tropfest, The Australian Video Producers Association, Coca Cola, Holden, IsoFest, Sydney Indie Film Festival and others, Ben has a passion for delivering his artistic vision.

 

In 2017 Ben was director and cinematographer for the highly commended half-hour drama ‘Escape’, commissioned by the Australian Government as part of a major campaign in domestic violence prevention. In 2018 Ben was the winner of the Tropfest 7-second film challenge.

 

Having studied with AFTRS, the University of New England and JMC Academy, Ben's style is defined by its cinematic and commercial aesthetics. As a director, Ben has a keen sense for comedy and drama, an eye for cinematic tone and a knack for heart-strung storytelling. Having worked with a slew of well-known talent, Ben takes a personal, collaborative approach to working with actors.

 

In 2007 Ben began video content production company Global Pictures, which continues to directly service some of Australia's biggest brands with projects ranging from national TVC's to online content and corporate video productions.
